Day 1 – Departure to Athens – All Departures on Wednesdays
Pack your bags, you are off to Greece!
Day 2 – Athens – Thursday
Welcome to Athens! Upon arrival at Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, you will be greeted by your Hellenic Holidays transfer representative, who will transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of your day exploring Athens. You might stroll the old neighborhoods of Plaka, which mingle old & new Athens or explore the vibrant neighborhoods of Monastiraki and Kolonaki.
Day 3 – Athens – Friday (B)
Your morning is at leisure. After breakfast, your day will begin with your half day sightseeing tour of Athens. Visit the Acropolis, the crowning beauty and glory of Ancient Athens, with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylea, the temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion, with its Porch of Maidens. Drive to the Roman Temple of Olympic Zeus, the Panathinaikon Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896), the Tomb of the unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square. Conclude your tour with a visit to the Acropolis museum, a marvel of architecture with a full exhibition of the glory of Ancient Athens. In the afternoon, driving along the coastal road past the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and countless coves, one has a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf. A crowning feature of the tour Cape Sounion dominated by the spectacular Temple of Poseidon overlooking the Aegean sea. Archaeological evidence has shown that there were two organized places of worship on the cape by the 7th century BC: a sanctuary of Poseidon at the southern edge and a sanctuary of Athena about 500 meters to the northeast.
Day 4 – Athens – Saturday (B, D)
After a morning of breakfast, last minute shopping, exploring or leisure, your Hellenic Holidays transfer representative, will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the port for your embarkation on your Greek Island Cruise. While on your Greek island cruise, you will explore some of the most iconic sights of the Greek islands- and some of the most beautiful beaches in just one week. This unique itinerary provides the chance to experience five destinations in seven days.
Day 5 – Kusadasi (Ephesus) – Sunday (B,L,D)
Your Ancient Ephesus bus tour is a journey through the golden ages which shaped a pivotal center of commerce and spirituality. Built 3,000 years ago, Ephesus shaped the history of Greek, Turkish and Christian civilizations from its privileged location, chosen (according to legend) by the oracle of Delphi. A site of pilgrimage, due to its proximity to the Temple of Artemis (one of the 7 Wonders of the World) and the presence of major Christian figures (the apostles Paul and John and the Virgin Mary) within the city walls, Ephesus is currently one of the largest Roman archaeological sites in the Mediterranean.
Day 6 – Rhodes – Monday (B,L,D)
Centuries of culture and layer upon layer of extraordinary civilizations await to be discovered during our bus tour through impressive Lindos and within the awe-inspiring structure of the Acropolis of Lindos. We will follow the footsteps of heroes as we walk along the Knight’s Street in the heart of historical Rhodes. We will end our tour of historical Rhodes with free time so that you may fortify your memories of Rhodes at your own pace.
Day 7 – Agios Nikolaos – Tuesday (B,L,D)
As you venture into the incredible open-air museum of the Palace of Knossos, your bus tour will take you along the proud Venetian heritage of Heraklion on your way to the Palace of Knossos. As you explore the Palace of Knossos, considered Europe’s oldest city, you are entering and experiencing the incredible world of the legendary Minoan civilization. Enjoy free time to savor the beauty and uniqueness of Crete’s largest city (and the fourth largest in Greece). The city is brimming with an assortment of museums that satisfy every taste – entre, full of busy cafes and elegant shops or retrace the steps of its Venetian rulers.
Day 8 – Santorini – Wednesday (B,L,D)
Hello Santorini! You arrive in Santorini at approximately 7:00am on Thursday. You will overnight in Santorini, so you have plenty of leisure time. Santorini is a sight to behold. Wander the narrow streets or venture along the clifftop to pretty Oia for breathtaking views, or across the island to the intriguing archaeological excavations at Akrotiri. Don’t miss the chance to watch the blazing sunset from a ringside seat.
Day 9 – Santorini – Thursday (B,L,D)
Consider a cruise excursion to Santorini’s jewel, the village of Oia, is a trip into the picture-perfect world of an island where romance and beauty reign supreme. Your tour begins by driving by the picturesque villages of Firostefani, Imerovigli, “Santorini’s balcony” and Megalochori surrounded by its famous vineyards, where you will stop briefly to capture the experience with photos. As you arrive in Oia, walk through the gleaming white streets of the village through a beautiful labyrinth of shops, cafes, art galleries and hotels, harmoniously built in the unmistakable Cycladic style.
Day 9 – Santorini / Milos – Thursday (B,L,D)
You depart from Santorini at approximately 3:00am. You sail to Milos and arrive at approximately 8:30am. A geographical marvel and home to a wonderful selection of diverse and beautiful beaches. Take a tour and enjoy the breathtaking landscape of Sarakiniko beach, or visit the whitewashed capital, Plaka, spilling over a hilltop. Nearby, there are 2000-year-old catacombs to explore. You depart from Milos at approximately 1:30pm.
Day 9 & 10 – Mykonos – Thursday & Friday (B,L,D)
You arrive in Mykonos at approximately 7:00pm on Thursday. You will overnight in Mykonos, so you have plenty of leisure time. While in Mykonos, consider a quick sail over to one of the most important mythological and archaeological sites in Greece, the uninhabited island of Delos. There are optional tours available at the concierge desk on your cruise. While in Delos, a must see is the famous row of Lions and the Sanctuary of Apollo.
Day 11 – Athens – Saturday (B)
You arrive in Athens at approximately 9:00am on Monday.
