Some of the beaches are organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, but there are no water sports. The ambiance of the island is to swim and dine in seaside tavernas on the beaches in Sifnos. It’s what we call the shorts and flip flop feel of the island.

Day 6: Sifnos (B)

There is some exploration that you can do on your last day in Sifnos. Consider exploring, the rustic Sifnos by walking the area’s endless country trails and ancient villages atop its beautiful yellow and white, coastal hillside. If you enjoy walking, there are many hiking trails that cross Sifnos island and lead to monasteries, small chapels, old towers, and secluded beaches. The most important sightseeing in Sifnos is the Monastery of Chrissopighi, protector of the island. A very nice chapel is also the Church of Seven Martyrs, at the entrance of Kastro village.

Day 7: Sifnos / Folegandros

After breakfast, your Hellenic Holidays transfer representative, will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the port of Kamares for your short ferry ride to Folegandros. Folegandros, named after the son of King Minos, was once thought of as so isolated that political prisoners were exiled there until the last century. However, its beauty and charm are such that what it lacks in major sightseeing opportunities compared with other Cycladic islands, it more than makes up for in mouthwatering cuisine, stunning beaches, crystal waters and secluded coves.

Day 8: Folegandros

You have a free day to experience Folegandros. Consider exploring the harbor village of Karavastasi and sit with locals in one of the few taverns. Spend the rest of your day exploring the rest of the island by car, whether it’s beautiful Chora or medieval Kastro. Folegandros maintains traditional Cycladic architecture; villages composed of tiny whitewashed villages, narrow alleys, and colorful windows. In the afternoon, stroll around the picturesque streets of Chora or watch the romantic sunset from the hill above Chora. Consider dinner at one of our recommended restaurants, enjoying the fresh, local ingredients and the island’s local recipes.

Day 9: Folegandros

Your last day in Folegandros. Consider visiting some of the island’s beaches. The small boats from the port can take you to the beaches. Also, the island’s beaches can be reached on foot or by bus. Folegandros beaches are known for their tranquil surroundings, spectacular views, and the stunning landscape. They are unspoiled and as such are unorganized and ideal for total relaxation. Some of the better beaches are: Agali, Katergo, Livadi and Agios Georgios. Livadi is a great beach for water sports. Consider taking an island tour by boat, swimming at five beaches in one day with the chance to view Chrysospilia. Keep in mind, that most hiking trails start from Chora or the port and lead to beaches, such as Agali and Katergo.
